Matrix by Hunter Seamons using Final Cut Pro (SHN & FLAC>AIFF>Final Cut>WAV>FLAC)
June 6, 2008

Notes:

1) There were cuts in the SBD during song breaks and during the Playing Reprise. With the AUD patches, the set is seamless.

2) If the Master Reel source ever surfaces for set 1, this matrix will hopefully be amended.

While this show doesn't bring the fire and primal energy of say, 5/8/77, it takes a subtler approach to achieve the same result. The piece de resistance is the Playin'>Comes a Time>Playin' sequence that closes the set. The first part of Playin' contains a very spacey jam, almost '74-like at times. Just sit back, tune in, zone out. Comes a Time is performed beautifully; Jerry's singing sweet and strong in 77. A nice long outro jam makes the connection to the final chorus of Playin'.

While all the music before that is very good, this Fire doesn't come close to the intensity they would reach just a few days later.

No complaints about the sound which is excellent.

This place is incredible. I got my first dead boot in 1981, and lost it in about 1985. It was always my favorite one. And here it is! Better quality too :)

What happened to the first set? Nothing mentioned, and the previous review says nothing, but good things. Sound quality is superb- would love to hear whole show at this level. Fire is sick!!!!!!! Great jerry solos.

A nice mix here well worth the listen a 5 star because its May 1977 and we can actually listen to his fine quality recording 30 some odd years later. Oh yeah crank it and as the man said "turn your neighbors on"... PEACE LEMMY!!!
